Jay,

Yes, I was instantly reminded of Janet Fish's reflective surfaces (I thought for an instant that this was a Birgit post), and also I was taken by the bits of color that show up in your collage collections. The color is so subtle and elegant that it captures me again and again.

Melanie:

Would seem we both love association. Your mention of bubbles, waves and swirls puts me in mind of Davy Jones and his locker as he and it appear in one of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

Thanks for mentioning Arthur Rackham. I knew him not, but now must know him better. In a related vein I'm reminded of Richard Dadd, and his Fairy Feller's Master Stroke. May be that fairies live in those ornaments.

Birgit:

I know whereof you speak and agree.

Something in the elegance, intricacy, delicacy, and monotone makes me think of Arthur Rackham. (I'm always happy to be reminded of Arthur Rackham, it's never a long trip.)

There's also a suggestion of "under the sea" -- I think it's the bubbles, waves, and swirls.
