Jay. glad you like the song. As far as having more, there are many written but this is our first finished recording. More to come.
Channel Surfer Girl was written by my friend Barry Keenan and myself. We recorded it in his home studio. I sang lead vocals, and played acoustic guitars, some percussion, and a synthesizer part. Barry played electric guitars, bass and keyboards, programmed the drums and sang the harmonies.
I guess that’s the new Valley Girl–though it’s actually more about the Video Guy. The song seems rather sweet and wholesome; the irony is very gentle. Which I think works better than taking the easy, cheap shots. I should put down that I like it before I surf to the next blog…
It’s driving me nuts. I keep going over the octave jump in the chorus and the words “I don’t have anything since I don’t have you” swim around in there. If you plan to do this sort of thing again, I would ask that the next song be less catchy.
My main plan for the song is to license it for use in a major motion picture, which of course generates a hit soundtrack album. I hope to then buy a villa in Florence and spend to rest of my life painting, and drinking Chianti Classico.
Not at the moment, but I can put you on some very good costume and makeup people. Furthermore, there’s a silvery guy who used to solicit in downtown Santa Monica who might fit right in.
Just noticed that the surf is running through the head of your cover subject.
David:
I’ve been memed! Henceforth, and throughout this day I’ll be humming along.
Santa Monica if I remember correctly, which might make her a Catalina Channel Surfer Girl. But that wouldn’t fit in.
Do you have any more?
Great picture, maid rising out of the surf!

David,
It is gentle and I really like your voice.
Dammit David!

Jay, I’ll do my best. It’s not easy :-)
David:
Darned! I played it again and will now have to live with the consequences. What is planned for this song?

So if you know anyone who’s making a movie…

Yes, we seem to be getting some interference.
She’s generating it. With a few adjustments, she could be making stars…
